Love, Romance and Intimacy

Attempts have been made to describe love, romance and intimacy. Call love an emotion, a state of mind perhaps. Explain love as due to cascades of hormones, pheromones and sundry other chemicals; or attempt to decipher love from myriads of signals bouncing around neurons and synapses.

Perhaps love cannot be explained easily, but can be imagined, can be conveyed, can be expressed; as in poetry, as in music. In a simile, in a metaphor, in an allegory. Maybe love can be relived, can be lived, through a book, a movie, an opera.
